Your data is what makes your Daily ritual reliable. We keep it private, measured, and made for your own use only.

The short version

Await is a personal reflection app. We collect what you give us — your account info, what you write, and the choices you make in the app — to make the app work and to personalize the AI suggestions you receive. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We use limited analytics only to understand and improve Await. You can delete your account anytime.

Who we are

Await is operated by an individual (referred to as "we" or "us"). For privacy questions, contact: support@awaitroom.com

What we collect

Account information: your email address, account user ID, authentication provider information if you sign in with a third-party provider, and password if you use email/password sign-in (which is hashed — we never see the plain text). We also store legal acknowledgement timestamps and the Terms/Privacy version you accepted.

Personal context you provide during onboarding: first name, age, relationship context, kids' names, ages, statuses, and optional preferences for how Await refers to your children, work role, faith tradition, growth goals, communication preferences, profile/voice calibration choices, and any optional context you choose to share. We do not collect your birthday.

Daily entries: the priorities, Your Weather selections and shifts, shift notes, reflections, journal entries, and to-do items you log each day.

A Note You Left records: when this morning ritual is available, we may store the rendered note for your account and local date, the evidence metadata behind it, the prompt version used, and a playback record showing whether that day's note has started or completed. This keeps the note stable for the day and prevents it from replaying across devices.

Accountability partner data: if you use the accountability partners feature, we store the partnership relationship between you and your partner(s), messages sent between partners, and the daily win/loss flag you report each day. See "Accountability partners" below.

Settings: your zip code, approximate coordinates derived from that zip code, time zone, notification preferences, and display preferences.

Device and technical data: basic usage logs (IP address, browser type, errors), limited product analytics such as page views, referrers, device/browser type, and approximate region, app/device identifiers used for push notification delivery, MFA/authentication status, and server-side security/rate-limit records for keeping the app running. We do not use advertising identifiers or analytics for third-party advertising.

How we use your data

To provide the app: store your entries, show your history, render your dashboard.

To personalize AI output: the personal context you provide, your daily priority, Your Weather, and limited daily context may be sent to Anthropic (the company behind Claude AI) so the AI can generate suggestions specific to you. See "Third-party services" below.

To generate and replay A Note You Left: Await uses your own structured history, selected setup context, and recent rendered note lines to build a morning reflection, keep it consistent for that day, avoid repetitive phrasing, and make sure it only plays once.

To honor optional notifications: if you enable notifications, we use your notification preferences and time zone to respect which reminders you want available. Notification content is kept brief and should not include journal entries, private reflections, or detailed personal context.

To support you: respond to questions or issues you contact us about.

To improve and protect Await: understand aggregate usage patterns, review support messages or feedback you choose to send directly, enforce rate limits, investigate errors, and keep security and admin audit records.

Authorized operators may access limited account, profile, entry summary, support, or technical data when needed for support, safety, security, beta/admin operations, auditing, or debugging. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for sale, or training AI models.

Accountability partners

The accountability partners feature lets you share a daily check-in with someone you trust. If you use this feature, be aware of the following:

What your partner can see: whether you reported winning or losing the day (your win/loss flag). They do not see your journal entries, to-do items, or other entry content.

What appears in messages: when a partner generates an encouragement message for you, limited context is sent to Anthropic to generate the message text: your first name, today's priority, your win/loss flag (if reported), and your communication preference. Your partner chooses from AI-generated options — they do not write messages from scratch.

Message storage: messages sent between partners are stored in our database and are readable by both the sender and recipient. They are not shared with anyone else.

AI generation: the message generation process sends your first name, today's priority and win/loss status, and your communication preference (e.g., "warm," "direct") to Anthropic. We may compare both partners' faith settings only to decide whether shared faith language belongs in the message. If faith settings do not match, we tell the AI not to use religious or spiritual language. No journal content or detailed personal context is included in partner message generation.

Removing a partnership: either party can remove the partnership at any time from settings. Removing a partnership does not delete historical messages already stored.

Notification when a partnership ends: when you step away from a partnership, the other person sees a brief notification on their dashboard letting them know. You can optionally include a fixed thank-you message. If you instead choose "Remove silently," the partnership ends with no notification — this option exists for safety reasons.

Your Person

Your Person is an optional mutual connection between two Await users. When linked, each person can see the other's daily priority selection. No other data is shared between linked users — not journal entries, not win/loss status, not reflection content. Priority is the only field that crosses the connection.

Your Person connections require mutual consent. Either party can unlink at any time from Settings. When someone unlinks, the other person receives a brief in-app notification only — no email is sent.

Your Person and accountability partners are separate relationships and cannot overlap.

A Note You Left

A Note You Left is a morning reflection that may appear before your dashboard when Await has enough recent history to reflect back. It is assembled from your own structured Await fields, such as priorities, win/loss, Not Today commitments, and Your Weather. It does not quote your journal entries, throw-off reflections, deck items, private partner/person content, or anyone else's private information.

If AI polish is available, the evidence-backed note draft, your feedback style, selected setup context, and recent rendered note lines may be sent to Anthropic so the note reads more naturally. Partner names and children's names are stripped before the AI prompt and are not persisted in the note cache.

We store the rendered note by day so it stays the same for you and so future notes can avoid sounding repetitive. We also store a playback claim for the day so the note starts only once across your devices.

Early access requests

If you submitted a request for early access to Await, we collect your name, Apple ID or TestFlight invite email address, and any answers you provide on the request form. This information is used only to manage early access, send TestFlight invitations, and contact you directly. It is never sold or used for advertising.

Third-party services

To run Await, we share data with these providers:

Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication, including email/password login, third-party sign-in sessions, password reset, and MFA factors. Your account info and entries are stored on their infrastructure. Their privacy policy.

Google — provides optional Google Sign-In. If you choose Google Sign-In, Google receives the sign-in request and Supabase/Await receive the account information needed to create or access your Await account, such as your email address and provider account identifier. Their privacy policy.

Vercel — hosts the website and provides Web Analytics. Standard server logs apply. Vercel Web Analytics helps us understand aggregate product usage, such as page views, referrers, device/browser type, and approximate region. We redact invite tokens from analytics URLs. We do not use Vercel Analytics for advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling personal data. Their privacy policy.

Anthropic — provides the AI that generates personalized suggestions and accountability partner messages. When Await generates your Daily Word and Lead, your personal context, the day's priority, what you said you won't do, Your Weather, and limited outside weather context may be sent to Anthropic for processing. Child context marked not to be included in prompts is not named in AI prompts. When A Note You Left is polished by AI, the evidence-backed note draft, your feedback style, selected setup context, recent rendered note lines, and structured Await fields such as win/loss, priority, Not Today, and Your Weather may be sent; journal text, throw-off text, deck items, private partner/person content, and cross-user data are not included. When a partner generates a message for you, limited context (your first name, today's priority, win/loss flag, communication preference, and faith matching guidance) is sent to Anthropic. Your weekly summary email is also generated by AI: the past 7 days of your journal entries, win/loss data, threw-off reflections, Your Weather shifts, and shift notes are sent to Anthropic to produce the letter, along with profile context such as age, faith, feedback style, work role, relationship context, child prompt-inclusion settings and optional preferences for how Await refers to your children, growth goals, and current-season context so the letter can use the same guardrails as other Await prompts. Your Person support prompts: when you have an active Your Person connection, we send the following to Anthropic to generate your daily support prompt: your first name, feedback style, relationship context, faith matching guidance, your person's first name and priority for today, and a non-spoiler internal awareness category derived from the generated Daily Word and Lead. We do not send your person's journal entries, win/loss status, generated Daily Word, generated Lead prompt, Your Weather, or other reflection data. The same data handling rules apply — Anthropic does not train its models on this data per its API terms. Their privacy policy.

OneSignal — delivers optional push notifications for the iOS app. We use your Supabase user ID as the OneSignal external ID, plus app/device notification identifiers needed to deliver notifications. We do not enable OneSignal identity verification tokens, advertising tracking, or cross-app tracking. Their privacy policy.

Resend — sends account, security/MFA, password reset, invite, support, early-access, and weekly-summary emails. Email address, name when available, message content, and delivery metadata may be processed to send those emails. Their privacy policy.

Open-Meteo — provides weather data. We send your zip code's coordinates (no personal info). Their terms.

For A Note You Left specifically, selected setup context may include faith tradition, feedback style, growth goals, current-season context, and whether relationship or children context exists. Partner names and children's names are stripped before the AI prompt and are not persisted in the note cache.

App Store privacy categories

Await's App Store privacy labels should describe linked data including email address, name, user ID, other user content, sensitive information you choose to enter, coarse location, device ID, product interaction/diagnostic data, and other data types needed for security, support, notifications, and app operation.

Await does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, does not sell personal data, and does not use your data for third-party advertising.

Notifications

Notifications are optional. If you enable them, Await stores your reminder preferences and enabled status so the app can honor your choices. You can turn notifications off in Settings at any time.

Notification content is intended to be brief. We do not put journal entries, detailed personal reflections, or Your Weather shift notes in notification content.

Email communications

Await sends a weekly summary email every Sunday evening. This email is generated personally for you based on your week's reflection data — your journal entries, win/loss record, what threw you off, and Your Weather shifts or shift notes — plus profile context such as your feedback style, growth goals, current-season context, relationship context, child prompt-inclusion settings, and optional preferences for how Await refers to your children. It is not a newsletter or marketing email.

Await may also send transactional emails for account confirmation, password reset, MFA/security changes, partner or person invites, early access, and support.

To opt out, contact us at support@awaitroom.com and we will remove you from the list. We plan to add a one-click unsubscribe link in a future update.

Sensitive content

The AI context fields and journal entries can contain personal or sensitive information. We strongly recommend you do not include health information, financial information, or anything you wouldn't want a third party (Anthropic) to process. The AI cannot function without seeing your context, so anything you put in those fields is processed by the AI provider when you generate suggestions.

Your rights

You can:

Access your data: view it anytime in the app, or contact us for an export.

Correct your data: edit your context, settings, or entries at any time.

Delete your data: delete your account from settings at any time. This permanently removes your account and associated app data within 30 days, except for limited security, audit, legal, anonymized operational, backup, and provider records described below.

Withdraw consent: you can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. Contact support@awaitroom.com to exercise any of these rights.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize associated app data within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for an additional 30 days before being purged. Limited security, audit, legal, abuse-prevention, and provider delivery records may be retained when needed to protect the service, comply with obligations, or document operational events. Anthropic may retain logs of API requests separately under their own retention policy (typically 30 days).

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Access to the production database is restricted to authorized operators and service providers who need access for support, security, operations, or debugging. That said, no system is perfectly secure — if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly.

Children

Await is an 18+ app. It is not intended for children or teenagers under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
